De Quervain's Tendinosis
I bet the title looks like Swiss to you. That’s because the injury that I have was discovered by Swish Surgeon by the same name in 1895. I can state with full confidence and experience that this REALLY hurts.
De Quervain’s tendinosis is a painful swelling (inflammation) of specific tendons of the thumb. The condition is also known as de Quervain tendinitis or de Quervain’s tenosynovitis. DeQuervain’s was named after the Swiss surgeon who first described the condition in 1895. https://my.clevelandclinic.org/health/diseases/10915-de-quervains-tendinosis
While it’s a setup back and I will not start my tour until mid-April, I’m confident I can do 25 stops on the tour or more. I have all the camping equipment I need and I will have the trailer up and running over the next few weeks.
In the meantime, I will test out the camping equipment in a few weeks so that I get that sorted until I swing a leg over the motorcycle.

As time progresses, I will come up with a complete list of equipment I’m bringing on this trip so that an idea can be formed how I’m accomplishing the the rest between the various tour stops.
The good news in all of this is that I’m not missing work so I’m not burning through vacation time. I will also do as much as I can using the weekends I have to knock out some of the tour stops that don’t require me to camp and rest for the next day.
I will give another update and more planning information as I continue to rest and start the healing process.
